A couple was traveling down a North Carolina highway last week when they noticed something strange.
Up ahead, a discarded suitcase was laying on the road, and it seemed to be moving. The moment the couple slowed down, they noticed it: a little nose just barely protruding from a bag corner that had been unzipped. They shockingly discovered four lovable puppies
inside the suitcase after swiftly opening it.The pair drove to Guilford County Animal Services after grabbing the puppies. When they claimed to have discovered a bag full of puppies, a member of the shelter staff who encountered them in the parking lot initially
didn’t believe them. It seemed so absurd. He eventually noticed the four young faces, though. The staff member told The Dodo, “We all expressed disbelief that someone would do that. The puppies, all of whom are female, lacked confidence in their new caregivers,
possibly fearing that these outsiders would also forsake them. Since moving into the shelter, they have progressively learned how to adapt, and the kind rescue team has been showing them what love is like. The shelter representative added, “They are quite scared and shy.”
“Our staff is connecting and playing with them because the medical team says they haven’t experienced much human socialization,” the staff member said. The puppies’ names, Tumi, Samsonite, Stowaway, and Carion (as in “carry on”), are luggage and travel-related.
The puppies will be placed up for adoption and given the chance to find their forever families once they have undergone the necessary medical examinations and socialization.Although these puppies were once abandoned, they will never have to fear being forgotten again because of the quick eyes of two Good Samaritans.
